Performance Evaluation of Emulsion Liquid Membrane on Chlorpyrifos Pesticide Removal: Stability, Mass Transfer Coefficient, and Extraction Efficiency Studies

Emulsion Liquid Membrane (ELM) is an emerging technology that removes contaminants from water and industrial wastewater. This study investigated the stability extraction efficiency of ELM for removal Chlorpyrifos Pesticide (CP) The was studied in terms emulsion breakage. proposed included n-hexane as a diluent, span-80 surfactant, hydrochloric acid (HCl) stripping agent. Parameters such mixing speed, aqueous feed solution pH, internal-to-organic membrane volume ratio, external-to-emulsion ratio were investigated. A minimum breakage 0.66% coupled with maximum chlorpyrifos achieved at 96.1% 95.7% best-operating conditions 250/50 external pH 6, 250rpm 1:1 internal-to-membrane 10min contact time without utilizing carrier kinetics estimation mass transfer coefficient also conducted (3.89×10-9m/s). results this work can be extended to other types pesticides
